Position Overview

The Senior Product Manager for Instant Payments will play a pivotal role in advancing Talon Trust Bank’s mission to deliver seamless, real-time financial solutions. Reporting directly to the Principal Product Manager for Instant Payments, this position is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for Real-Time Payments (RTP) and FedNow initiatives. You will lead a talented cross-functional team to design, prioritize, and implement the Money Movement Platform, driving significant value for the bank and its global clientele. This role requires a strategic mindset, deep technical expertise, and a passion for delivering customer-centric financial products.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Real-Time Payments (RTP) and FedNow architectures, including messaging protocols and operational frameworks.
• Master ISO payment standards to ensure compliance and interoperability across global financial systems.
• Oversee core payment processing modules, including transaction processing, parsing, validations, rule engines, charges, account postings, settlement, payment routing, message formatters, and status messaging.
• Lead the integration of payment hubs with core banking systems, fraud detection, risk management, sanctions screening, and money movement rails (e.g., TCH, FedNow).
• Guide a development team in an Agile environment, driving the delivery of innovative products from concept to production.
• Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog to align with strategic business objectives.
• Collaborate with capability managers, delivery managers, architects, scrum masters, business lines, and other product managers to advocate for optimal solutions and ensure seamless execution.
• Establish and maintain cross-departmental communication to align on priorities, manage key performance metrics, and resolve conflicts between competing KPIs (e.g., timeline vs. risk).
• Define, sequence, and execute the Money Movement Platform roadmap in collaboration with business lines and functional teams.
• Champion a customer-obsessed approach, delivering simple, frictionless, and innovative product experiences.
• Present persuasively to peers and senior leadership, facilitating collaborative discussions to drive strategic outcomes.

Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid role, with team members typically spending three days per week at our headquarters at 3rd Floor, 18-20 North Quay, Douglas, IM1 4LE, Isle of Man, with flexibility for remote work on other days.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
• 5–8 years of experience in product management, preferably in financial services.
• Deep expertise in Payments and Money Movement systems, including Wire, ACH, RTP, FedNow, and Zelle.
• Thorough understanding of ISO payment standards and their application in global banking.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in product development within an Agile environment, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
• Strong background in program development, implementation, and strategic analysis within matrixed organizations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape, operations, and product offerings within financial services or direct-to-consumer industries.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Advanced financial and competitive analysis skills to drive data-informed decision-making.

Compensation

The estimated base pay range for this position at our primary location in Douglas, Isle of Man, is $125,715.00 - $147,900.00 - $162,690.00. Compensation may vary based on location and candidate qualifications.
